Grants, Scholarships and Loan Programs

This information is for borrowers attending degree-granting institutions only. You must be attending or have attended a participating school located in the U.S. during an eligible prior enrollment period. You must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident or a Non-U.S. citizen borrower with a creditworthy cosigner (who must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) and required U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) documentation. U.S. citizens and permanent residents enrolled in eligible study abroad programs or who are attending or have attended schools located outside the U.S. are also eligible. Applications are subject to a requested minimum loan amount of ,000. Current credit and other eligibility criteria apply.

1 Interest rates for Fixed and Deferred Repayment Options are higher than interest rates for the Interest Repayment Option. You’re charged interest starting at disbursement, while in school and during your six-month separation or grace period. When you enter principal and interest repayment, Unpaid Interest will be added to your loan’s Current Principal. Variable rates may increase over the life of the loan. Advertised APRs assume a ,000 loan to a freshman with no other Sallie Mae loans.

Sallie Mae reserves the right to approve a lower loan amount than the school-certified amount.

Summer Grant Opportunities

Remaining Pell funds 

If you have a remaining balance on your 2016-17 Pell Grant, you can use those funds for Summer 2017.

To be eligible:

  • Must be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at the end of spring term, 2017
  • Cannot be in default or owe an over-payment on Federal funds
  • Have not reached your Lifetime Eligibility units for Pell
  • Enroll for classes before Monday, June 5, 2017 to have Pell grant eligibility for those classes

Scholarships available Summer 2017

LCCC Non-Traditional Incentive Award:

The Incentive Award for Non-Traditional Students (IANS) is a privately funded award intended to help non-traditional students achieve a college education and training. The amount of the award varies per student and it can be used to help pay for tuition, fee, books, and other educational expenses including child care and transportation. The IANS is a need-based award.

    LCCC Summer Achievement Award:

    LCCC has created the Summer Achievement Award to assist with Summer 2017 tuition and fees for selected students who successfully enrolled and completed full time course work for the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 terms. Up to six hours of funds for Summer 2017 tuition and fees will be awarded to students that meet the scholarship criteria. Due no later than June 5, 2017.

    To be eligible:

    • Enroll for Summer 2017
    • Pursuing completion of an LCCC certificate or associates degree
    • Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of the awarding
    • Successfully registered and completed between 13-15 credit hours for both fall 2016 term and spring 2016 term.

    Summer Scholarship Application

    LCCC Summer Sampler for Scholarship Students:

    This award will cover the cost of up to 3 credit hours of coursework for summer 2017, based on your scholarship eligibility.

    0 cumulative GPA

    Scholarship recipients enroll for summer classes and complete the online form to notify the Financial Services Center. The Summer Sampler will then be applied to your account.

    LCCC Rising Scholars Summer Bridge Program:

    The Rising Scholars Summer Bridge program can improve your success moving from high school to the first year of college. This free coursework will accelerate your progress towards graduation and ultimately help you complete your program in two years.

    The program provides leadership and service opportunities to encourage engagement and a sense of community. Research shows that students who feel connected to the college are more likely to continue and graduate.
