Consider sales tax, gasoline tax, cigarette tax, alcohol tax, excise tax, etc. Give a real answer!!!!!! Oh, and state tax, Texas doesn’t have, but we make up for it taxes on everything else. A real answer about what we pay in taxes?

    A real answer about what we pay in taxes……
    Take a look at page 86 of the Instructions for Form 1040 (http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.p…
    You’ll see that for fiscal year 2006, that federal income from all sources was $2.4 trillion.
    - the pie chart on the left of that page shows how much (in percentages) came in from each revenue category.
    - for instance, just personal income taxes acounts for 39% of that number: that’s $983.7 billion. That’s a lot of personal income taxes.

    Probably about 50%, as the sales taxes, excises, etc, come out of money that has already been taxed.
