Tax Q&A

I am planning to buy my first home and there are some homes which have property taxes around 3k-4.5K /year
There are some newly constructed homes(2004-2005 model) and they have higher taxes of around 6k – 7K/year.
1) Is it worth buying these newly constructed homes with those higher property taxes ?
2) Any other pros & cons you could suggest.

I would never pay that much for property taxes!!! Once your home is paid off you would still be paying $250-600 a month (which would likely be even more by the time the home is paid off since property taxes only go up!). That is nuts! I pay $900 a year on a home I am selling. This is for a nice place on an acre. I only pay $825 on the home I live in. It is on almost 2 acres, has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. I would move to another area personally!

Let’s put it this way: You see some shoes you really like. There are 2 pair, identical. One pair cost $20. The other pair cost $60. Which pair would you purchase?
