what can i use as a tax write off besides giving to charity and my church and what can I use as deductions on my taxes for next year? I’ll be getting a car soon so I can use the mileage, I’ll be buying new uniforms for my job, etc..

There is quite a long list of expenses that can be deducted from your income. Some of the more common ones include medical expenses (limited by AGI), home mortgage interest, you already mention charitable contributions, tax return preparation expense, state taxes paid, real estate taxes. These are just a few of the more common deductions.
The car would only be deductible if you are using it for business purposes. Commuting to work however is never deductible. The sales tax you pay for the car could be a potential deduction however.
The best way to maximize your deductions is to consult with a tax professional, or use one of the many tax prep programs that are available. They will guide you through the deduction finding process.
